Google Maps
 If a person has ever gone online to print directions, they can use Google Maps. Traditional GIS platforms are limited when it comes to ease of use, delivery speed, and graphic appearance. Google Maps are pre-populated with aerial photography, streets, parks, water features, and other great data that you would have to pay to implement in a traditional GIS platform. Listed below are the features we’ve built to add value to Google’s basic mapping platform.
Map Layers
Strategically selecting the data points that will best represent your community is one of the areas where RealGIS excels. Our clients are not limited by traditional GIS information available from local government agencies. Primary data sources such as company lists, news items, and demographics are welcome. Here are some examples of items you may want to consider placing on a custom Google Map.

Map Layer Panel
RealGIS has built a panel to compliment the Google Maps interface that will categorize all of the data layers in a way that is easy to sort through. The user can expand and collapse categories, select all of the layers within a category heading, and use it as a legend for the map.
Major Data Overlays
Overlaying major datasets such as zoning, usage maps or zip codes is quite difficult within Google Maps. RealGIS has developed a system of taking those large sets of data and converting them to files that are readily accessible via the web.
Property Search
As an addition to the custom map detailing your area, RealGIS has the ability to plug into local listing sources so users can conduct property searches while visiting a website. The custom design can include items like detailed property reports, listing reports, and the ability to upload properties into Google Earth.
Industry Clusters
Many communities undergo a targeted industry study but aren’t sure how to communicate that information on their website. RealGIS can create a custom interface that will allow site selectors to search a grid of companies, locate them on the map, and pull up detailed profiles.
Demographics
RealGIS offers the ability for users to pull demographic reports directly from our mapping tool. Clients have the option of attaching radial ring reports to every property viewable on the map or to specific business areas within the region.
